When I go fishing in saltwater, I watch the tides because the fishing is supposed to be the best two hours before on the incoming tide, or when the tide is going out. There are bridges and jetties where you can fish. You usually need #2 size hooks for seabass; and #3 size hooks for Flounders. We used to have a small boat, and we used to bring it out on weekends to the bay. We used to use a top and bottom rig. The top hook caught most of the weakfish and the bottom hook caught most of the flounder. You can use dressed hooks with spinner blades, to catch more fish. Squid and minnows is good bait for flounder and weakfish. Winter flounder bite better on bloodworm's, and weakfish bite better on squid with shedder crab. Sometimes, fluke will bit on squid, or shark strips. Tautog usually bite on green crab; seabass bite good on squid, or clam. It is good to know when different fish are running, to catch more fish when you go fishing. You should use 12 lb. to 20 lb. test fishing line. You should have a fishing net to use for catching big fish. When the current gets faster or slower, you should change the size sinker your using. You should also know the tides, so you know when it is a good time to fish in different areas of water.
